Anyone can call themselves a consultant. Sealing a drawing that a building gets built from is a different thing, and the state keeps a public record of who is allowed to do it.

John holds a master's degree in engineering from Florida International University and has spent roughly a decade practising in Florida. He founded Corosal Consulting in 2024.
That distinction matters and we would rather state it plainly: the decade is his, not the firm's. The entity is new. The judgement behind the drawings is not.

Design and inspection stay together
Plenty of firms will draw a set and hand it over. We would rather be the ones standing in front of the framing we detailed, because it changes how the detail gets drawn in the first place.
The jurisdiction comes first, not last
We work across Florida, and no two Florida building departments read a set the same way. Miami-Dade and Broward sit in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone with their own product approval and wind provisions. Which building department you are filing with is the first question we ask, not a detail we discover at review.
We will tell you when it is not a job for us
Turning work down is cheaper for everyone than taking on a project we are the wrong firm for. If your scope needs a specialist we are not, we will say so.
